Abstract

This paper explores the intersection of public health policy and sports governance, examining how the two fields intertwine to shape the landscape of sports participation and physical activity promotion. The study delves into the various dimensions of public health policy, including health promotion, disease prevention, and the creation of health-enhancing environments. It then evaluates the role of sports governance in implementing these policies, with a focus on national and international frameworks. The analysis highlights key challenges that arise from the alignment and misalignment of public health goals with sports governance practices. By examining case studies in different countries, the paper identifies effective strategies for integrating public health objectives into sports governance structures. The findings underscore the importance of collaborative efforts between policymakers, sports organizations, and public health professionals to ensure that sports contribute positively to the health and well-being of populations.
