Abstract

The role of sports in fostering resilience and mental health has gained significant attention in recent years. This paper explores the impact of sports participation on individuals' psychological well-being and the development of resilience. Through an analysis of empirical studies, it is observed that regular engagement in sports activities can lead to a variety of psychological benefits. These include the reduction of stress, anxiety, and depression, as well as the enhancement of self-esteem, self-efficacy, and coping skills. Furthermore, sports offer a platform for social support, community belonging, and the formation of positive relationships, all of which contribute to mental health. The paper also discusses the mechanisms through which sports facilitate resilience, such as the development of problem-solving abilities, adaptability, and emotional regulation. In conclusion, this study underscores the importance of sports as a valuable tool for promoting mental health and resilience, particularly in the face of life's challenges.
