Abstract

The present study aims to explore and analyze the effectiveness of public health strategies in the prevention of substance use among athletes. With the increasing incidence of substance abuse in sports, it is crucial to develop comprehensive prevention measures to safeguard the physical and mental well-being of participants. This paper discusses various strategies employed to tackle the issue, including education and awareness campaigns, screening and early intervention, policy development, and community-based programs. It also evaluates the challenges faced by public health professionals in implementing these strategies and highlights the importance of collaboration across multiple sectors. Findings suggest that a multi-faceted approach is essential to address the complex nature of substance use in sports, emphasizing the role of ongoing research and evaluation in shaping effective prevention initiatives.
